An imposter account, pretending to come from Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) co-creator Vitalik Buterin on Instagram, the social media run by Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: FB), is supposedly engaging over 570,000 individuals with sponsored paid ads and a staking rip-off.

Yoloswagmonster, a material developer on TikTo k, explained the Instagram page as a “sinister scam.” He stated that the imposter account is based in Israel which “some of the former usernames on this account were also trying to be Vitalik.”
The 3 usernames described by Yoloswagmonster in the TikTo k video all go back to 2019. Benzinga confirmed this to be precise. The account in the name of Vitalik Buterin was developed onFeb 14, 2019, based on Instagram’s account info data.
“What he’s doing is running sponsored ads and getting people to message him….then he ropes you into a staking scam. This is disgusting to be honest,” stated the TikTo k material developer.
